If you think you’d like to serve the community by becoming a CFR and responding to 999 calls in your spare time, then click on the tab CFR. If you think you’d like to help in other ways, such helping us to meet out target of training over 1000 people in CPR in 2016, or even if you would just like to help us with fundraising or event First Aid then contact us at nick.shacklock@gmail.com
In order to qualify as a CFR you will need to apply during one of the three or four application ‘windows’ each year on NHS Jobs (we will advertise dates on this site and social media). If you meet the basic requirements, you will then be invited to interview, and if successful be placed on the next available training course. You will need to have less than 3 points on your licence and undergo an Enhanced DBS check before you can be considered.
We run short 4 hour ‘Train the Trainer’ courses on a regular basis. During this course we will provide you with the knowledge to be able to deliver the syllabus. We then support you with an experienced trainer for several sessions until you are able to run these events on your own.
Trainers will be expected to achieve a good pass in the Qualsafe Awards Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and AED as part of their initial training. You will also be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
We are particularly keen to recruit people who are available in the day to work in schools.
